To recap, my project is: 100 days of painting portraits on paper. Why?
1. I love faces
2. I have enough paper, paints and brushes in my studio so no need to buy anything
3. To explore colour, shape and pattern while using a limited set of paints to work my paint mixing muscles
To my surprise I really enjoyed playing with paint each day. I'm also noticing I'm learning things like: how quickly the paints dry up, which brushes I prefer, how little paint to add to shift a colour, how messy I am! And that it's better to use a knife to mix colours instead of ruining brushes - its also easier and wastes less paint.
I'm not expecting to feel like painting every day so I'm happy it started well. 93 days to go!
