Hello. Happy 2014! I hope you've been having fun over the past few days and your end of year celebrations were spent just as you like, however loudly or quietly that may be. I've eaten way too much gingerbread and, after a solo 5 1/2 hour drive home yesterday I saw the new year in happily and quietly watching Treme, Season 3 back-to-back with my TV loving husband and Millie the cat, who's not the biggest fireworks fan. She never knows whether to investigate by looking out the nearest window or to run and hide under our bed. We all made it through safely in the end and I hope that you did too.
As I slowly begin 2014, today I thought it'd be nice to share with you one of my favourite New Year wishes from American author, Neil Gaiman, dating back to 2008. Over the years Neil has shared many inspiring words to welcome in a new year, if you're interested in reading them you can do so here. He also gave the University of the Arts, Class of 2012 an inspirational commencement speech which I posted over on my old blog last year but thought it was well worth sharing again here.
Cheers to the adventures and possibilities of a shinny new year.
